Not his best book that I have read yet but still good. I did have to put it down and stop reading it for about two weeks and then came back to it and enjoyed it even more when I came back to it. I have two of his other books to read but these are in paperback. Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read. Good plot but if it had been an audiobook it would have been read in a monotone.
Grace is an interesting character and I took a liking to her straight away. She is smart and determined, but not without her flaws. I liked the interactions between her and Blake with whom she has had a relationship in the past and also her very human reactions with the young officer Carolyn.

DI Grace Fisher and her team return for a fourth outing. This time she's investigating a cold case where a young woman was raped and murdered 25 years ago. Partial DNA is retested and this brings the Nixon family to her attention. She begins to find links to other rapes, missing girls and police corruption.
Peter Moore, I adore you--too bad I'm already married! Details his true attempt to return home to Australia from England using no planes. He's witty and brilliant, all his travel books are gems. This book just wasn't my cup of tea, but I know other people have enjoyed it. This is the story of the author, Peter Moore, who decides to travel home from London to Sydney without stepping on an aeroplane.

Wrong Way Home was fast paced, the story was very twisty turny with many different strands to unravel. I was little annoyed with Grace because she obviously cared about Blake. However the relationship broke down because she was reluctant to tell him about journalist Ivo Sweatman who occasionally helped her in investigations.

Made me both want to travel right then, and appreciate my home more. Thanks to Peter for travelling and letting me travel vicariously through him.

I'll spend a lot of time in cheaper places to leverage the currency and save money, and I'll fill my heart with whatever it desires. The book was reviewed by Robert L. Boyd, Ph.D. in Social Science Quarterly. It was reviewed in the Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion, by Larry J. Halford, in the Library Journal, by Lucy Patrick. The calling is to see the castle built by Babak Khorramdin and the dam and the two bridges built centuries ago nearby. Meeting real people in Iran is foremost in my heart.
She and her team work incredibly well together on the whole though, complimenting each other and all the while talking things through. The investigation wasn’t at all as straightforward as I thought it would be when I first started reading. Many times, I was convinced I had the whole thing figured out, only to be proven wrong. Living about an hour and a half away from where this book is sited ad the fact my partner was born there, made it a lot more interesting for me. Set in Southend and the local area, it tells of a cold case that is re-opened by detective Inspector Grace Fisher.
I was glad to read about cynical ex Fleet Street hack Ivo who still feels he has atone for his sins. I was most intrigued about by blogger Freddie who I think may of had a dark side himself. THE WRONG WAY HOME is the hilarious account of this life-enhancing Grand Tour by means of bone-rattling bus rides, furnace-like trains and exorbitantly-priced taxis. He describes the places - and the people he encountered there - with a mixture of awe, irreverence and self-deprecation. As you can see there is a fantastic range of objects to place - the only thing missing is a police officer to chase you whilst racing!
Before you start the load, do a quick check of the floor below the sprayer arms. Make sure there isn't any food, spoons or other items that could block the filter or the sprayer arms. Foreign items down there can gum up the works and make your dishwasher not work properly.
There were moments that were totally mindblowing because 1994 doesn't seem like THAT long ago, and yet so much about the world has changed. And there were moments that made me go "Thank Christ we don't have to do that any more". Yes, buying international phone cards to be able to contact your family, I'm looking at you. Though this trip was ~10 years ago, it was wonderful insight into travel to exotic places like Iran, the former Yugoslavia, Afghanistan and Laos, plus others. I enjoyed it, and Moore certainly came home with some interesting stories to tell. Personally, I can think of very little less appealing than living out of a backpack for six straight months while travelling on a hell of a lot of buses, because frankly? The "short way" home still takes 24 hours, and that's more than enough for me.
